Okay so I admit I might be superstitious of some of the stupidest things. Not the number 13, or Friday the 13th or 666 or black cats, none of that bothers me. However I will not open an umbrella inside the house, nor will I walk under a ladder. (Not so sure if that's because I'm afraid of bad luck or if I'm just afraid it will fall on me) But the worst of these superstitions is that I tend to draw signs from things. And I'm hoping that this sign is not what I think it is.
As I awoke this morning to find all my frogs belly up. I have no clue what happened. Maybe someone put tap water in their tank by accident, I don't know. But they are all mysteriously dead. I'm hoping this isn't some sort of commentary on my ability to keep things alive.
So my new plan for today is to convince myself that baby frogs and baby humans have nothing in common..

I had that same thought yesterday afternoon. We went for a walk, and when we got back, the flowers in my windowbox and on my porch looked dead. I thought, "Failure to thrive," and wondered if it's connected...ugh. 'We're both dorks', my logical head says...our ability to keep frogs/plants alive is not connected to that of humans..we've kept ourselves alive, right? And our husbands? But my heart...it says we're right on. (((hugs)))
Umm, nope, your ability to keep frogs and a baby alive aren't connected.
Amphibians are finnicky. Fish are even fussier. I refuse to contemplate that the fact I kill house plants is connected to my abilty to bear a child. Just won't think it.
Not even close. One has no bearing on the other. Put it out of your head and don't think it about it again. Happy thoughts only!
I'm always fighting my tendancy to see signs everywhere. I know they don't mean anything. But still....
Thanks you guys. I think baby is okay.. but I'm going to go either today or wednesday to the clinic by my house where I can hear the heartbeat again. It's a walk in for young moms/pregnant women. And you can go in and hear the heartbeat or get baby checked. So lucky to live in Canada where I don't have to pay for healthcare.
