Yesterday I took my First Aid & CPR and passed my test and am now a trained First Aid Responder. Yay! It was pretty cool, I learned quite a bit of useful (if not disgusting) stuff. Such as how to do CPR on adults, children and infants. And also what to do if someone starts puking while you're performing CPR on them. (Did you know you have to wait til they finish and then scoop out their mouth?) They recommend wearing gloves.. For good reason. But hey if I have to do something gross to save a life I'm all for it. I also know what to do if you get a pencil stuck in your eye, or if a body part gets amputated. I also learned that they don't do the heimlich anymore. We do something called abdominal thrusts, in a J motion. The list goes on and on, and the book they gave us has some lovely (and graphic) pictures in it. Lunch was not served this time, and that was probably for the best.
After I finished my course and went home we had our best friend come downstairs (she lives the floor above us in our building) and babysit while Chuck and I went to the movies (all alone!) for the very first time in well almost 9 months!! It was lovely. We saw Publ.ic Enem.ies and I've been obsessed with Joh.nny De.pp for the longest time so that was fabulous, except that I noticed he for some reason bears a disturbing resemblance to my dad.. Anyway I leave it up to you. What do you think? Creepy no?

Very cool about the first aid training. That's something I'd be interested in doing.
It's nice that you got to have a night out too. And yes, I can definitely see the resemblance!
